Ingredients

  • 6 ripe tomatoes
  • 1 ball of fresh mozzarella
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Freshly cracked pepper to taste
  • 1 baguette, sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Dice the tomatoes and place them in a bowl. Add chopped basil, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  3. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and drizzle with olive oil.
  4. Bake the bread until golden and crisp, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Top each toasted slice with the tomato mixture and a slice of mozzarella.
  6. Return to the oven for 2-3 minutes to melt the cheese slightly.
