  • 1 pound smoked sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pot, add onion and garlic and sauté until translucent.
  4. Add the Cajun seasoning and stir for a minute.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a boil.
  6. Add penne pasta and cook until al dente, about 10-12 minutes.
  7. Reduce heat and stir in heavy cream and cheese until melted and combined.
  8. Return sausage to the pot, mix well, and season with salt and pepper.
