A rich and flavorful soup combining shrimp and crab, perfect for chilly evenings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  3. Stir in the seafood stock and bring to a boil.
  4. Add the shrimp and cook until pink.
  5. Gently fold in the crab meat.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream and Old Bay seasoning.
  7. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  8. Simmer for 10 minutes, then serve hot.

Notes

  • For a thicker bisque, blend some of the soup and return it to the pot.
  • This soup pairs well with crusty bread.
