Ingredients

  • 1 pound crab meat
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 cups seafood stock
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 stalks celery, diced
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion, garlic, celery, and carrot, and sauté until softened.
  3. Pour in the seafood stock and bring to a simmer.
  4. Add the shrimp and crab meat, cooking until the shrimp turn pink.
  5. Stir in the heavy cream and Old Bay seasoning, and simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste before serving.

Notes

  • For a thicker bisque, blend half of the mixture before adding the cream.
  • Serve with crusty bread for a complete meal.
